About Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Women's League
The Catholic Women’s League of Canada calls its members to grow in faith, and to witness to the love of God through ministry and service.
The Objects of the League shall be to unite the Catholic women of Canada:

to achieve individual and collective spiritual development

to promote the teachings of the Catholic church

to exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life

to protect the sanctity of human life

to enhance the role of women in church and society

to recognize the human dignity of all people everywhere

to uphold and defend Christian education and values in the modern world

to contribute to the understanding and growth of religious freedom, social justice, peace and harmony
CWL Bursary Application 2026
The CWL at Holy Name of Jesus Parish is offering a $500 bursary for a student entering post-secondary education starting in September 2026. The applicant must be a parishioner at this parish for at least 2 years.
To apply, send us an Application letter. Describe yourself briefly yet accurately (Max: 300 words)
What to include:

Your post secondary study goal upon high school graduation: what, where, and when are you planning to study

What motivates you to continue your studies upon graduation from high school
-
Activity/activities in your parish, school, community where you are (or have been) actively involved in.

Explain in general terms, why you would make an ideal candidate for the 2026 CWL at Holy Name Parish bursary.
Please share an example of:

How you have been able to display your identity as a young Catholic, or
-
One area you have shown a leadership skill to make a positive impact on others
In addition to an Application Letter, each Bursary applicant will need a letter from our Pastor Msgr. Gregory Smith, stating he/she is a known participant within the school or church community, and a practicing Catholic. Attach both your personal Application and the Pastor’s letter when submitting your application.
